What the membership includes
The Recovery Membership gives members unscheduled, self-directed access to our on-site recovery tools during business hours. Included equipment at the Altoona location consists of compression boots and sleeves, the infrared sauna, vibration plates and massage guns. Members may use any of these tools as needed within the center’s operating times.
Membership is designed for people who want to manage recovery between workouts, practices, long work days and events. It suits active adults and athletes who prefer drop-in convenience rather than booked therapy sessions, allowing recovery practices to be integrated around training, commute and family schedules in the River Prairie district.
How to use equipment safely
All recovery tools are self-serve, with posted manufacturer instructions and usage guidelines at each station. Members are expected to follow those instructions, use appropriate clothing and footwear, and stop use if anything feels wrong. If you have a medical condition, consult a healthcare professional before using equipment.
Because the membership provides independent access rather than one-on-one clinical treatment, you should weigh the trade-off between convenience and supervised care. Many members use the membership to supplement appointments with coaches, trainers, or clinicians rather than replace them.
Fitting into weekly routines
Plan sessions around your week: come after workouts, between shifts or on recovery days. Altoona’s River Prairie location is convenient for commuters arriving via U.S. Highway 53, U.S. Highway 12 and Clairemont Avenue, and for people visiting nearby sports facilities on Bob Brown Boulevard or local trails along the Eau Claire River.
Seasonal factors influence visits — cold winters and snowy roads in our region can change timing and frequency of drop-ins — so use the membership’s flexible access to adapt. The self-serve model allows you to pick tools that fit the day’s needs without advance scheduling.
